As a local brewer, we depend on high-quality agricultural crops to brew our beers. Local sourcing remains a critical part of our business model as we want to secure a resilient and high-quality supply of crops for decades to come. Growing ingredients locally allows us to brew the best beers and that’s why we support the livelihoods of farming communities nationally, working with over 2,000 direct farmers to grow natural ingredients — including barley, sorghum and cassava
In 2017 we launched Eagle lager, a local beer made from locally sourced Cassava. Eagle Lager is providing a boost for the country’s agriculture sector and over 4,000 cassava farmers. Using cassava grown by local farmers in Luapula Province, the drink’s growing market share is likely to help make agriculture one of the major contributors to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
In 2018, we introduced Block-Chain technology that has created a platform that leverages data, technology, and insights to help more than 5,000 enrolled farmers improve their productivity, financial traceability, and environmental performance.
Research & Development
We support local Research and Development and have dedicated agronomists that facilitate the development of high-quality seeds and share best practices with farmers.

We have defined a “direct farmer” as a farmer who has signed a contract with us or who supplies us via a local cooperative or aggregator.
