Brewing industry expert Michelle Kilpin took up the reins as the new Country Director of Zambian Breweries in 2021. She is only the second woman in the company’s history to take up the top job at Zambia’s largest brewery. The first was Annabelle Degroot, who went on to become the second Global Vice President - Value Creation for AB InBev in Switzerland. Ms Kilpin previously served as Innovation Director - Africa Zone at AB InBev South Africa - a position she held from January 2021 until her deployment to head the Group’s Zambian subsidiary. A 17-year veteran in the brewing industry, her previous roles also include a stint as Regional Director, and Trade Marketing Director of AB InBev South Africa. Before joining the AB InBev Group, the World's largest brewer, she worked for South African Breweries for over 12 years, where she held portfolios ranging from Sales Representative, and Sales Business Integration Manager to National Sales Services Manager, and Formal On-Premises Channel Manager. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Hons) and marketing management from the University of Johannesburg.
