The donations will be distributed to level 1 hospitals in Kanyama, Matero, and Chilenje, and surrounding community markets.“As we move to up-scale hygiene, cleanliness, and good health amidst the third wave
The donation is part of the ties cemented between Zambia’s largest brewing company and the country’s largest cement producer aimed at fighting COVID-19 at community level to safeguard a healthy nation.
The shields are the latest contribution from Zambian Breweries, which has also developed a hand sanitiser formula and is manually bottling it for donation only to healthcare workers and staff.
The support was part of a series of initiatives by the company to help fight the virus in partnership with Lusaka City Council, WWF and LWSC to help provide educational information on prevention and to supply clean safe water to communities experiencing water shortages during the pandemic.
Production of hand sanitisers followed high demand of the commodity on the market and reduced alcohol production at the company in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The donation is the fulfilment of the company’s pledge made to LuWSI last year to improve water and sanitation in Lusaka.
