By 2025, 100% of our product will be in packaging that is returnable or made from the majority of recycled content.
Responsibility for our product goes far beyond the last sip. We’re constantly looking for ways to increase the rate of return for returnable packaging, recycled materials in our packaging, to increase recycling rates around the city and country at large through the enhancing of the local recycling value chain and educating consumers on the importance of recycling.
Manja Pamodzi Recycling Initiative – In 2015, we launched an initiative to answer to the visible challenge of post-consumer packaging waste and Extended Producer Responsibility. The Manja Pamodzi “Hands Together” initiative is an incentivised community-based initiative that is helping clean up post-consumer packaging waste thereby improving sanitation and hygiene and improving community livelihoods. In August 2018, the initiative was established as separate legal entity – Manja Pamodzi Foundation Limited – which is open to further collaboration from public and private stakeholders.
Recycling Partnerships – We continue to work closely with the Lusaka City Council (LCC), Ministry of Local Government, the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), Ministry of Youth, Sport & Child Development and many other stakeholders to enhance the recycling industry in the country.
Our next challenge is to make sure all of non-returnable packaging is incorporated in the local recycling value chain.
